Happy world book day! we join and celebrate!
Celebrate the magic of sharing stories from breakfast to bedtime with this amazing WEBSITE:
World Book Day is finally here!
Today is the day when we go bananas over books, crazy about our favourite characters and share stories from brekkie to bedtime. Reading together and sharing stories can have a hugely positive impact on a child's future and we want EVERYONE to make time for the most important 10 minutes of the day not just today but every day.
Watch these films for a little reminder of just why children love sharing stories and here are 5 great ways you can share a story today:
1) Visit our Share A Story page for simple, fun activities you can do right now – making reading crowns, decorating bunting, colouring-in bookmarks, quick quizzes and more!
2) Watch our brilliant author/illustrator masterclasses and see young minds being inspired right in front of your eyes!
3) Play our fun, interactive Reading Stars game – why not set your class/children the challenge of ticking off all their stars over the next week starting from today?
4) Get creative and start working on your display for our Reading Stars competition. Capture the magic of sharing stories in your school or nursery/pre-school and you could WIN 100 books to boost your library!
5) Don't forget to tune in to the BBC Teach Live Lesson World Book Day Special happening TODAY AT 2PM. Featuring live interviews with Cressida Cowell, Malorie Blackman and Rob Biddulph, children will be challenged to complete fun reading and writing activities in order to help save the fate of World Book Day itself!
